The Dodo
A peaceful soul
In blithering innocence
Four million years you waxed
And in less than two hundred you waned
Ignorant of man and his troubles
And the chaos in his wake
You tried and you died
Although we may never meet
I know you well
I hope it is quiet where you lay
And Calvaria bloom year 'round
Mauricio has lost a favoured child
And the veil of sadness finds me
