Mr. Sick and Twisted himself! Creator of Elric Kinslayer, Duke Dorian Hawkmoon von Koln and Prince Corum Jhaelen Irsei, Michael Moorcock is my favourite author hands, tendrils and claws down. He created the Million Spheres theory and originally coined the term "multiverse". He is also responsible for the first cyberpunk hero (Jerry Cornelius) and breaking the traditional, muscle-bound Conanesque mold of the fantasy hero with Elric of Melnibone'. Two words that come to mind when I read his material are "humble genius".
